Lake Helen Cemetery

Lake Helen Cemetery (Lake Helen, FL)
History:
The cemetery lies on the border of Lake Helen and Cassadaga. Along with gravestones dating back to the 1800’s, Cassadaga founder, George Colby, is also buried here.
Reports:
Some say that while they have seen shadow figures roaming through the area at night, it is the “Devil’s Chair” that has stirred up the most curiosity and stories. Unlike some of the other similar looking sites, the “Devil’s Chair” is a carved chair made from brick that include two headstones that, instead of facing outward, face towards the middle towards the chair. While some believe that the Devil will appear for those brave enough to sit in the chair, legend has it that if you leave a container of beer at the side of the chair, it will be empty by morning.
Investigation:
Investigators Bobby and Dianne were able to conduct a short investigation during the daytime hours. Many photos were taken of the area. However, nothing out of the ordinary was captured. No audio records were conducted as there was someone nearby that was conducting yard work to their residence.
Since the cemetery is closed during nighttime hours, no entrance was made to the property. There was nothing noted that was seen in person from outside the gate.
Conclusion:
There was no evidence of paranormal activity during our visit. However, Integrity Investigations plans on continuing investigations of this location when in the area.
